Natural Soap

I have dry/sensitive skin. Which products should I use? Try one of the bars listed on our Best Facial Soaps page. These soaps are more gentle than our regular bar soaps. If you find that you need a moisturizer after cleansing, the Shea Butter Crème or one of the oils for skin such as Sweet Almond oil are a good choice for your skin.

I have oily/acne skin. Which products should I use? It depends. There are several causes of acne and what works for one person may not work for another. Citrus soaps clean skin very well. Dead Sea Black Mud soap cleans and lightly exfoliates. Tea tree soaps are widely used for problem skin.

Bar Shampoo

My hair feels heavy after using the shampoo bar. What can I do?
When you begin to use natural shampoo you may experience an adjustment period which can take several days to a month to normalize. Factors include water hardness and other products you have used or are using in your hair. Try shampooing very lightly and use a vinegar rinse. Using distilled water is helpful also. Not everyone will have this adjustment period but for those who do, I think you will be very please once you have adjusted. I have been using them for some time and my hair has body and bounce that I never had before. Those of you already using natural shampoo should have no problem at all.

I have dry hair and oily scalp. Wet hair and lather the shampoo bar in your hands, shampooing the lather onto the scalp only. Rinse well.

Can I use your other soaps for shampoo? You may be able to. This will largely depend on your water. Regular soaps are more likely to leave a residue in your hair so you may need to use a vinegar rinse.

Are the shampoo and body bars okay for colored treated hair? I can only tell you from personal experience that I have used hair color, henna and now going natural and did not notice any change while using hair coloring. If anyone else has feedback which would be helpful, please let me know.

Can I place my order by phone? If you would like us to call you to take your credit card number, please order as usual, select credit card at check out and fill in the credit card number with "0"s where the numbers should be. We'll call you for your credit card number as soon as we get a chance. Be sure to include your phone number on the order.

Checks and Money Orders If you would like to pay by check or money order, please contact us. You can find our mailing address on the "Contact Us" page. We only accept checks and money orders for US purchases only. If you pay by check, there will be a 10 day hold after we receive payment before your order is shipped.

How soon will my order be shipped? Your order will usually be shipped within 2 business days unless you have a bulk order or other special order. You will be notified if there is any further delay which doesn’t happen often.

Allergies

I am allergic to nut products. Do you use the same equipment for all of your soaps? We do use nut products such as shea butter and mango butter in some of our natural soaps and other items. We use the same equipment for all products.

Animal Testing

Do you preform animal testing? No, we do not test on animals......unless John counts as an animal :).

Returns

If you are not completely satisfied with your order, we will provide you with a full product refund of item(s). All returns must be returned within 30 days of the purchase date with the original invoice. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable and return shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Your Privacy is important to us. We will never sell or share your information with anyone and we always discard old and unused information by burning it (it becomes heat for our home in the winter).

How to Care for Your Soap

Store your handmade soaps in a cool, dark place. Each scent should be stored separately in a plastic container or freezer bag to help retain scent and to keep them from absorbing moisture from the air. Handmade soaps are rich in natural glycerin and glycerin is a humectant which attracts moisture.

Bulk batch soaps are best keep in a plastic container such as a plastic shoe box to protect from moisture and help retain their scent.
